Who We Are

Scott McKay

Director of Operations, Managing Partner

Transforming to meet customer needs is something Scott McKay, founder of WIP, is no stranger to. In 1981 Scott began working for one of the first private telephone companies. During that time, deregulation of the telephone industry opened the flood gates for ambitious entrepreneurs. Initially, Scott worked with the business side of General Telephone and Electronics Corp. (GTE) with an emphasis with commercial customers. GTE turned into Verizon and moved all of their work force to the cellular division. At that time, commercial telephone systems were the corner stone of business communications and Scott was fully immersed and integrating those systems.  Scott split off and WIP was born - primed to install large scale communication networks, phone systems and early internet infrastructures on grand scales.

Over the last three decades, Scott has weathered transitions in networking, cabling, fiber optics, audiovisual integration, and more. Scott’s story is one of continual reinvention that’s allowed him to keep up with technology and to meet the needs of clients. It’s only fitting that WIP would become a long-standing member in the technology and communications industry.
